Attentive pricing

Attentive does not publish a per-message rate, plan price, or tier anywhere on its site. Pricing is tailored to your business needs based on four inputs: message volume, subscriber list size, number of channels, and AI products selected. All figures are by custom quote only, as of September 9, 2026.

The only published numbers are pass-through carrier delivery fees, which sit on top of your contract rate. The current US 10DLC fees as of September 1, 2026 are:

CarrierSMS ReceivedSMS SentMMS ReceivedMMS Sent
AT&T$0.0035$0.0035$0.009$0.009
T-Mobile/Sprint$0.0025$0.0045$0.010$0.0100
US Cellular$0.0025$0.0050$0.0100$0.0100
VerizonN/A$0.0045N/A$0.0070

Attentive states it offers usage-based billing with no credit system, and the real messaging rate appears only in your Order Form and invoice. Inbound replies are billed at the same rate.

Attentive features

Attentive supports two-way SMS and MMS messaging, with number types including 10DLC, toll-free, and short codes. The platform provides a public developer API with full OpenAPI specifications for v1 and v2, though neither spec includes a message-send endpoint; outbound messages must go through the Campaign Composer UI or event-triggered Journeys. Attentive also offers email-to-SMS and SMPP are not supported.

The platform lists 150+ pre-built integrations, including Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, Gorgias, Braze, HubSpot, and Zapier. An AI-agent index at docs.attentive.com/llms.txt provides machine-readable documentation.

Attentive reliability and compliance

Attentive does not publish an uptime SLA. Its public status page recorded a major outage on October 20, 2025, when a widespread access issue affected campaigns, journeys, and message sending from approximately 2:45 AM to 5:43 PM ET.

For compliance, Attentive supports 10DLC registration and includes TCPA tools such as Litigator Defender, which automatically suppresses phone numbers associated with SMS lawsuits. The platform holds a SOC 2 Type 2 attestation for the review period November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2025, audited by Schellman and Company, LLC. Attentive does not publish HIPAA or ISO 27001 certification.

Attentive support

Support is available through a webform (24/5, Monday 9 AM AET to Friday 9 PM ET) and in-app live chat (Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 9 PM ET). Every plan includes a dedicated support team and a customer success manager. A help center, Attentive Academy training, and full developer documentation are also provided. Attentive does not publish a US support phone number.

Attentive alternatives

  • Klaviyo, publishes self-serve SMS and email bundle pricing on its website, the opposite of Attentive’s quote-only model.
  • Postscript, shopify-native SMS marketing with a self-serve sign-up flow, offering lower-friction onboarding than Attentive’s demo gating.
  • SimpleTexting, displays transparent per-plan and text-credit pricing tiers, useful for buyers who want a visible number before speaking to sales.

Attentive verdict

Pros

  • Public developer platform with full API reference, downloadable OpenAPI specs, and an AI-agent index (docs.attentive.com).
  • Current SOC 2 Type 2 attestation (review period through October 2025) from Schellman and Company.
  • Detailed carrier pass-through fee schedule, updated September 1, 2026, covering US 10DLC, short code, and toll-free.
  • 150+ pre-built integrations and 59 named partners including Shopify, Gorgias, and Braze.
  • Enterprise scale: 1B+ messages per month, 5,000+ customers, and over 1,000 employees.

Cons

  • No per-message rate, plan price, or tier is published; all pricing is custom quote only behind a demo gate.
  • Neither the v1 nor v2 OpenAPI spec includes a send-message endpoint; outbound sends require the Campaign Composer or Journeys.
  • Trustpilot score of 1.6 from only 20 reviews, with complaints focused on contract terms and billing.
  • A critical platform-wide outage on October 20, 2025 disrupted campaigns and message sending for most of the business day.
  • No published HIPAA, ISO 27001, or uptime SLA, and no US support phone number.

Attentive suits enterprise and mid-market ecommerce brands sending high volumes who want SMS bundled with email, RCS, and push under one contract, plus strong TCPA compliance tooling, and who are comfortable with minimum commits and custom quotes. It does not suit small businesses, anyone who needs a self-serve flow with visible per-message pricing, or teams that must trigger sends purely by API call.
