American business SMS marketing service providers make it possible for corporations of any size to partake in personal, two-way texting and communication with target audiences, whether this is new customers, returning customers, employees, or stakeholders. SMS providers can be separated into premium and cheap companies, which both offer a range of SMS features, services, and protocols. The best SMS business service providers are compared and analyzed throughout this website.
It is important that businesses and business owners understand the regulations around mobile and email marketing, such as privacy policies, and getting audiences to opt-in, before engaging within such communication channels.

Clickatell is one of the world’s oldest business SMS providers with over 10 years of experience.
Clickatell delivers carrier-grade business SMS solutions solutions that are used by by more than 13,000 businesses, government and SME customers and application developers across the world.
A less favourable side of the Clickatell service is their credit validity of 120 days. They also charge a $30 initial fee, plus $10 monthly fee for a dedicated virtual number which is high for the industry. That said, this cost is minimal compared to the savings experienced from their lower prices.
Another reason Clickatell was chosen as a recommended provider was the ease of use when it comes to their campaign system which includes ensuring messages are anti-SPAM compliant. They also have a list cleaning service as standard which cleans a SMS contact list when its imported and can reformat numbers when they are in different styles. They also have an auto-opt out for their clients with free access to their pool of shared virtual reply numbers.
If you’re looking to send mass SMS volumes (over 500,000) then you may want to consider Burst SMS. Their 500,000+ send rate is 4.1c which is significantly lower than the other premium SMS business providers like Simpletexting or Ez Texting. They also have a lower dedicated virtual number price of $25 per month and a longer credit validity of 1 year. You will be sent through a hybrid gateway if you elect the lower-priced SMS, however, Burst also offers a premium, direct-to-carrier service at a slightly higher price per SMS.

Most USA businesses are used to high-quality mobile telecommunication providers such as T-Mobile, Verizon, or Virgin Mobile. These networks cover most of America and send SMS messages within seconds. However, a lot of cheaper business SMS platforms don’t use these networks though due to their higher delivery fees. Instead, they will use grey or hybrid network routes which are often based overseas. These networks still have relatively high deliverability but messages can be delayed by minutes to hours, and have limitations when it comes to large volumes and in some cases may have a failure to deliver. While Clickatell doesn’t offer pay-as-you-go plans, they do offer flexible pre-paid plans.
Businesses that require their text message marketing messages to be delivered instantly and reliably, should consider engaging with premium mass texting services such as Clickatell or Bulk messaging or group messaging and group texting, and SMS. An example of this could be an internet service provider who is required to send bulk SMS messages through a password reminder service. In these circumstances, customers would need the SMS almost instantly so they can recover their password, leading to a better customer experience. The other key reason a premium SMS network provider should be considered is if you need 100% of your recipients to receive SMS messages successfully. If the SMS messages for example are been sent out with confidential information that the recipient will urgently need, then a premium text marketing provider is a must.
Cheap SMS providers are suitable for all the other businesses who still want reliability but it’s not as critical. A perfect example may be a dentist or another small business that is looking to adopt an SMS reminder service for his/her customers. In these circumstances reminder text messages are important but if they are delayed by a few minutes or if 1 out of the 1,000 SMS text messages were not delivered to the chosen mobile number, it wouldn’t have a real impact. The price differences between using a cheap SMS company vs a premium one (especially for low-volume clients) will be substantial so a business must weigh up whether it is necessary to partake in a premium provider if they are not required to send large volumes of bulk text messages daily. For cheap SMS providers, inbound messages are always free, whereas premium providers often charge a fee for cell phone replies and additional features such as; notifications, confirmations, appointment reminders, and autoresponders, auto-replies. Additionally, some cheap providers even offer toll-free SMS.
So the key elements to always remember are:
If either of the above messages is a yes, then it is recommended that the business engages with an SMS provider that uses premium American SMS networks. If on the other neither is critical (which doesn’t mean they are not important) then an SMS provider that uses a grey network could be a better option. Therefore, SMS marketing can be the most effective communication channel out there, boosting customer engagement. However, choosing the best SMS messaging platform for your business will depend on the business and their team members individual SMS needs.

SMS Comparison USA was created by a team of experts who have worked within the SMS sector and understand the difficulties faced by comparing SMS companies and plans. The American couple no longer works with any SMS provider and has made these comparison tables using the information provided by the American SMS provider’s website.
When it comes to premium business SMS providers, eight were considered in the original comparison table but three were not included based on their lack of pricing detail (such as Message Media), poor deliverability statistic information, and/or customer service.
As the information in the table above comes from the authors viewing the providers’ websites and then copying key information, the information should only be used as a guide as prices and messaging features may update by the SMS providers’ website without warning. I have simple, low volume needs. <100 recipients. 3-6 texts per month. ability to add record fields so I can selectively send. One send would be a monthly rent due reminder based on a field in recipient record. Able to send & receive individual text. Must be browser-based. NO phone needed as I hate using cell keyboards. Any suggestions? I'm trying simpletexting.net and like it but it cannot send date based reminders. Thanks!
