The rates above were captured from Textline’s message-credits help article on September 9, 2026. International sending does not change the per-credit dollar rate. It changes the number of credits each message consumes. Textline’s messaging-cost table lists the United States at 1 credit, the United Kingdom and Australia at 4, Indonesia at 35, and Papua New Guinea at 59. Textline states that its subscription plans do not include industry required registration fees.

MMS3 credits to send and 3 to receive
Number typesToll-free and 10DLC supported; no short codes of its own
APIREST and Reporting API on Standard Plan or above, 200 requests per minute
Messaging toolsWeb dashboard, templates, scheduling, and reporting

Textline’s shared inbox is built around two-way SMS and MMS conversations. One message credit equals one 160-character SMS segment, and MMS costs 3 credits to send and 3 to receive. Textline supports toll-free and 10DLC numbers and can text-enable a short code you already own, but it sells no short codes of its own. Its REST and Reporting API is available on the Standard Plan or above, with a published 200 requests per minute rate limit, webhooks using SHA-256 signature validation, and mandatory multi-factor authentication.

Published integrations include Talkdesk, Zendesk Support, Salesforce, Pipedrive, HubSpot, Help Scout, Aircall, Vonage, Make, Slack, Keragon, Zapier, Facebook Messenger, Instagram Business, Gorgias, Freshdesk, SignalWire, and Twilio. Textline can also run on a bring-your-own-carrier account when you already hold a Twilio, SignalWire, or Vonage number.

Textline reliability and compliance

Textline does not publish an uptime figure or an SLA. Its Terms of Service state that uninterrupted access is not warranted, so there is no published availability guarantee. Textline’s public status page tracks carrier components from Twilio, Bandwidth, SignalWire, Vonage API, and Aircall Messaging.

Textline states that it is SOC 2 compliant and sells HIPAA Essentials and HIPAA Pro plans at a higher base fee, with a signed Business Associate Agreement provided through HelloSign. A2P 10DLC registration is supported on Textline’s own numbers, and the pricing page lists a $15 per month campaign fee, a $0 brand registration fee under 50 numbers, and a $15 one-time vetting fee as of September 9, 2026. Toll-free verification is supported. Textline publishes TCPA tooling but does not publish ISO 27001 certification.

Textline support

Textline publishes three US contact numbers. Sales can be reached at +1 (888) 610-3537, phone support at +1 (833) 366-5840, and a billing or support text line at +1 (415) 849-4349. Support also runs through SMS, email, a web contact form, and an in-app messaging widget for logged-in customers.

Hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm PST, Monday to Friday, with no published 24/7 coverage. Basic support is on every plan including the trial. Priority support is a Pro and Enterprise upgrade. API documentation lives in the Textline API reference, and the help center covers compliance, features, FAQ, and tutorials.

Textline alternatives

  • Heymarket: Heymarket’s shared inbox natively threads WhatsApp and Google Business Messages alongside SMS. Textline’s SMS and MMS platform does not reach those channels.
  • Weave: Weave bundles a full VoIP phone system with its texting inbox, which covers the voice capability Textline does not offer.
  • Podium: Podium pairs texting with automated Google and Facebook review request campaigns, which is a reputation management layer outside Textline’s feature set.

Textline verdict

Pros:

  • Entry per-credit rate of $0.03 with no purchase minimum.
  • HIPAA Essentials and HIPAA Pro plans with a signed Business Associate Agreement through HelloSign.
  • No monthly toll-free registration fee.
  • REST and Reporting API with a 200 requests per minute rate limit and SHA-256 webhook signatures.
  • Three published US contact numbers.

Cons:

  • No base plan dollar price published on any Textline pricing page.
  • No uptime figure or SLA, and the Terms of Service disclaim uninterrupted access.
  • Backup Credits cost $0.04 each and auto-purchase in 250-credit minimum blocks when Add-On Credits run out.
  • Support limited to 9:00am to 5:00pm PST, Monday to Friday, with no 24/7 coverage.
  • No native voice support. Porting a mobile number strips its voice and native texting.

Textline suits buyers who run small regulated teams, especially medical and dental practices, that need a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement and a shared inbox. It also fits buyers who already hold a Twilio, SignalWire, or Vonage number, because Textline can run on a bring-your-own-carrier account and waives the $15 per month campaign fee when you own the Twilio number. Textline does not suit buyers who need an all-in monthly price before contacting sales, SMPP, email-to-SMS, short codes, bundled voice, or support outside PST business hours. Trustpilot shows 172 total reviews but only 3 in the last 12 months, with a score of 3.3 out of 5 as of September 9, 2026, so the public review record is mostly historic.
