What a political texting service does
A political texting service sends the messages a campaign runs: supporter updates, volunteer coordination, event reminders, fundraising appeals and turnout messages. Some providers also connect to campaign software: CallHub lists one-click NGP VAN and NationBuilder integrations, and Text Request names VoteBuilder. How political senders are vetted
Campaign Verify says it verifies US political campaigns, parties and PACs, meaning 527 organizations registered with the FEC or a state, local or tribal election authority, and issues the token that opens the 10DLC political special use case. The fee is $95 per entity per two-year election cycle, read on Campaign Verify's page September 28, 2026. Since 17 February 2026 a carrier also requires the token on short code and toll-free. Bandwidth's 10DLC help article says the political use case is open only to nonprofit entities with a token or a verified 501(c)(3), (4), (5) or (6) status. Each provider publishes its own policy on top of this, and the table below lists them. EZ Texting's policy requires explicit opt-in, no list sharing or renting, opt-out instructions in every message, and a registered long code or dedicated short code.
